My Highlights Of 2011

This year I had the best year that I could ever have. My highlight of the year was being in the same class as the year eights because it was a new experience and I gained some new friendships. My best year 8 friend was Charm because he was funny and we had some fun times in class. I’ve have a lot more highlights like camp in the begging of the year and athletics. Even the little bits were fun like lunch times and just playing with my friends.
Another highlight was taonga time (treasure time) because I gained new knowledge on Japanese , Music , movie making and a lot more. I am so proud of my self because of my achievements and my test results that I have accomplished .

this year was the best year I ever had and I will always remember it. :)

Thank you teachers for giving me the best year.

Tennis This Term

" Awwwww !!" My team laughing and disappointed that I lost. As I looked at my teacher she laughed too!!Every Wednesday After maths , Room22 have their Tennis session with Marcel. Who is Marcel? Well he is a professional Tennis teacher that has come to our school so we can practise how to play Tennis.

To Kick off our session we had to grab our rackets and practise some drills. They are very important! The first drill was was hitting the tennis ball as many times as you can. I didn't get as many as I thought I would. Our second drill was To spin the ball around the racket without it falling off. Marcel blowed his whistle and gave us another drill This was the most complicated one of all the drills. This one we had to hit the ball and the his it with the rims around the racket. I probably got it once or twice.

" Yaaay!!" This game was fun . For this game we were split into groups to play " KING OF THE COURT !! " Kaiden and I were once again face to face but in a bigger version of table tennis. He started off with an ultimate serve , the UNDER ARM !! , and then I hit it , he hit it back and it went back and forth and back and forth , and finally after our long 12 second game I smashed and then I won ."WOO HOO" But then another worthy opponent steeped up , "AMOS". The game started and straight away I LOST !!!!

Thinking Logical And Creative

Today in the morning , room 22 had some logical and creative thinking. Our goal was to solve a problem set up by Ms T.

First off we were split into groups of three . In my group was Kaiden , Vaha , I. Our problem was "You are at a camp and it is raining and there is a hole in your tent. how do you fix it?" We had five objects and they were a light bulb , a spade , a can opener , some rocks and a pair of glasses.

Our solution was to find a way to create a cover for a hole in a tent. Our group did not succeed but we had a creative Idea but didn't have any logical in it !

“OHHYEEAAH”I said with excitement. I cant believe that it is the last week of school, its come soo fast. I have really enjoyed this last week of school. We also have a production going on called Webzidazical Don’t get caught. But the production practice took most of our learning time but that's alright cause we get to experience .

During the last week of school the none production people had been moved all around the school so it has been a bit of a muck up for them. But all I have to say about my self during this week is that its been awesome practicing and creating our mask and dancing with our friends.

This week was the best week of school for me so far and I thank my teacher Ms T for giving this week to us and also all the other staff for coping with the kids going in and out of class.

"AWWWW" I shouted with sadness. Mrs Richards is leaving. Who is Mrs Richards you may ask? Well she is studying to be a teacher and she came to our class to be prepared for when she gets job. I really enjoyed having her in our class.

I enjoyed listening to all of her story's she had told us. It was really amusing to hear about her self and her culture.

On the last day, Mrs Richards treated us by cooking a delicious Chinese meal to celebrate her last day in our class. The food was really appreciated and nice.

“WoooHOOO!!!” I shouted with relief . Our boys won the “New Zealand 7’s Nationals”. Last week they left on Sunday morning to Tauranga for the Sevens Competition (The Aims). They were one of 32 teams participating in this event. Some boys in our class were in the team, they were Charm Rameka, Raven Takerei and Junior Mokoi.

I was confident that the boy were gonna take out the Comp. They were training well, working hard, and working together as a good team. Also they had faith in them self so go the whole way and god guidance. They were even luck enough to have some hints and help from the New Zealand sevens coach, Gordan

The boys were grateful for the effort and help from our school and the staff who sponsored the boys in the team. “WELL DONE BOYS!!!”

An Awesome Time

Yesterday, the Senior school (years 5 to 8) had went out to our school court to learn some league skills with Siua from the 2011 Junior Warriors squad.

We put our change of close on and headed to our courts, But first we had to walk around the school because some of us just don’t listen. Then Siua introduced his self and we started straight away.

Th Science Road Show

Last Thursday the year 7/8 went down to Tamiki College for the science road show to learn more about our topic , bigger,better,faster,stronger. To see these amazing exhibits we had pay $ 7.00

As we arrived at the school auditorium the other classes had just started their session. Once we were instructed on the rules we raced off to see the gadgets .There was a variety of inventions so I picked the topic sound. My group decided to choose big ear. It is this sat elite dish that you talk through and then listen from the other end on a telephone.

My favourite device was the there-min. It was a sound pitcher. It is use by waving your hand up and down to make a rhythm or sound. It was fun cause we made our own beat and sounds our self's.

Thanks to the people that allowed us to spend some time over there and that They will come back.

Our Swimming Session..

The last two weeks we have our swimming session. Every Friday lunch time we get ready and walked down to swim magic(swimming pool).

Room 22 students swam in two lanes.What we need to practice is to keep our legs straight while kicking and the movement of our arms so we can swim the full length of the pool. We also had to see how much lengths we could swim and i swam 850.

I think our swimming session was very fun and it was good because if we did not practice we could drown

My class room 22 , is trying to find away of curing our school from littering. We came up with an idea to create a sign that stands out and that little kids right up to us can understand very clearly. These steps will help us to succeed and achieve our goal.

Identify a need..
The first step is to identify a need and our need was to stop the rubbish in our school from touching the school grounds.

Research...
Next step is to research an image online to get an idea of why it is important not to litter.

Generating ideas...This next step is very important in life. Generating ideas. This is to think or create many ideas so that there will be more of a chance of succeeding , because if you had one main idea and it got busted or lost, you will have many other ideas that may work.

I think this idea could work very well and that it could cure our school the litter bug...

Felting Wool

In room 22 Huia( reading group ) is learning the steps to make felt. these few steps of how to die wool, sell it, and make it for yourself .

1) the first step to processing the wool into felt would be to sheer the sheep.

2)secondly Then you would have to collect it

3)then you would have to weave the wool so that it can be coloured properly and be silky smooth

4)after that you would have to get a pot or something you can boil it in and buy some dye and pore it in the pot withe the hot water or bye some tea bags, coffee beans, and beetroot. You will have to wait for about an hour and a half to be coloured

5)Then you have to let it dry for about 1 hour

6)Then you put it on sale for a few dollars

My Taonga Time

This year the year 7 and 8 have taonga time.It happends every friday for half an hour. Taonga means treasure. Taonga time is a time for us to learn and for the teachers to share their passion to us.

We have 8 subjects and they are sports,music,team building,technology,science.

Last term I was with Mr J’s group. It was very interesting to learn about Mr J’s passion for his music and his awsome knoledge about music.This term I am with Mrs Tele’a. She has alot of information about computers,cameras,camera shots,movie making and more. Right now we are
learning what type are shots are there and to make a little movie about welcome to Pt england.

Taonga time is awsome and the good thing about it is that we get to learn what the teachers have and maybe get better at it in the future. It a good oppurtuinity to express your passion for what you like or what you want to do.

Every Thursday the year 7 and 8’s have netball drills. My class, Room 22, went with Emma from the Auckland Netball Association.

First off we had to do dynamic stretches. They were high knees, butt kicks, and the grape vine. After that we did some passes. But first we had to learn how to put our hands on the ball. We had to hold the ball in a W shape. This helps with good accuracy. I learnt how to do a chest,bounce, and do an overhead pass.Then we learned to secure the ball safely with these steps. Ice Cream! Run then pass and take two steps and receive the ball and say ice cream in your head.

We finished our drills and had a game of corner ball. Corner ball is this game similar to Netball but there a cones on the other ends of the court and you have to get the ball in that semi circle. We played and it was very fun and the boys were pretty good at it too.

I think that Emma is an awsome person to teach us these skills and hope that she has a good time with us too.

This term I received my report and I was very pleased about what I gained for my reading. It was very good because my results were excellent for behaviour, academic progress and work habits.

The thing I need to improve is my writing. I have been getting better but i still haven’t reached my destination. I also need to improve on focusing on one subject and not wondering around looking at things that distract me.

My term didn’t turn out very good, but I know I can get better by listening to the teacher and not talk while the teacher is speaking. This term I will improve by focusing!

Kia ora my name is Lepa To'a i am 11. I'm going to tell you somethings about me.

I am a Year 7 at Pt England Intermediate.My class is rm 22. I have a wonderful teacher Ms Tito.She is a very good at speaking moari. There are some new things happening right now at our school like our brand new net books,new Intermediate and our new class.

I am very well known around the school.I liked to do physical things like rugby, league,softball and many other sports. I’ve even played netball. am very good at drawing and my favourite subject is maths.

I have 6 family member ,my mum,my 2 brother my and my 2 sister.I live in GI in Talbot place.Its approximately 5 minutes away from school.I think this year is going to turn out great.

My group MTV,have done a lot of work in our animation and put a lot of effort an when see it,you would know.We have did some acting and most of it is animation.

We have a song called Never Say Never By Justin Bieber and featuring Jayden Smith.The song is about someone that doesn't give up and always try again and will always try to succeed.what u will see in our movie a boy that is fine with what ever goes and try's to be fare.

My club Mt Wellington Warriors U'11

Having a great and super year of RUGBY LEAGUE, sadly it has come to an end,and having only 1 loss,and it has been amazing.It has been a rough and cool year of mighty league.But there are still good some news still to come like tag,sleep over at the club,prize giving,dinner with the ARL (Auckland Rugby League industries ),and the end of year trip to were ever?So yea, there's no need to worry, we still got some events to come,very exciting and suspicious events too.

this year everyone has been superb and behaving normal and the parents have been very helpful and supportive, and the coach has been awesome and so has the manager.

I think this has been the best year for me, because its been hard but we still had some laughs on the way,even the coach and manager.We are very good friends and always are very good to each other.

Right now I will name all the names of the players in my team.

My super power

My power would have to be a shape shifter.It is a super duper great power to have and an excellent effect to other people.

If I had shape shifting powers, I would change into a super hero like the steel Iron Man,Super Man,Bat Man,Sonic,Wolverine or another super hero,like Goku saver of the earth,so I could show off.

I like many things in sport stores like boots,team Jerseys,shoes,rugby balls, an many other sport gear.I would change into a worker and get a discount(cheaper for you to buy) and drop it off at my house and get the latest gear. That would be AWESOME :)

I could save the world and be a very good example to others all over the world .

Warriors Vs Sharks

On Saturday the 8th of August The Warriors played against the Cornulla Sharks in a shocking lose from the sharks even though they were gonna lose any way.

Bill Tupou is saying in the picture "haha you cant get me ,ohh look thers dirt in your face"

The Warriors to much,but they still lost the last few weeks.The Warriors were wearing there 25 year anniversary Jersey witch to me look kinda cool but not great.Bill tupou with 3 TRIES WOW!!!!!!! That's awesome and JamesMoloney with 1 Brent Tate with also1 try and Joel Moon with once again 1 try and James maloney with 7 kicks over WOW AGAIN!!!!!!

The warriors put up a pretty god win and Bill Tupou having a fabulous game with a hat trick(three tries) even though he had some bad and funny times like when the ball hit him in the head,hahahahaha yea LOL alright,an after that he got a try he was probably faking for the time so it could run out,but yeah hahahahahahaha man that was funny he tried to catch the ball with his head, hahaha,on with the game.

Finally the game ended with a result of 37-12 to the Warriors.Great game guys tune in next week for the next Warriors game see ya.

The Ted Ashby

Trying to avoid the wobbling jetty ( little bridge near water ) I was balancing as I got a bored the flat bottom yacht called the Ted Ashby.

I was filming so i couldn't see everything.Jarna wanted a turn so i was happy because i could go and see every thing on boar ed. I saw several of knots including the bowline ,figure eight and I think the reef knot. It was very exciting to be on the yacht and a very good example of how sailors feel on a boat.

As soon as we got off ,we got our lunch and had a feed or went to salty Sam and he was a very weired man but very funny in a weired way.My highlight would be getting out there and felling very free.

I would like to say thanks to the people at the maritime museum

and letting our school participate in this activity. :)

My dream NRL dream team would have to be Billy Slater as 1 from the Storms because he has a lot of experienced at the back, Lote Tiquri 2 from the fierce West Tigers,Tamana Tahu 3 from the stinging Eels ,Greg Inglis 4 coming from the striking Storms ,Jarryd Hayne 5 from the from the sparking Eels,Benji Marshell 6 from the growling West Tigers and Jonathan Thurston the stampeding cowboys as number 7. These backs are very extremely dangerous players to play against, they very good. These are just some of the backs that I am showing you , there are plenty more that are really fierce and talented. Here are the forwards. Number 8 would have to be the retired Ruben Wiki the mighty warriors. Ummmm uh number nine would have to be Issac Luke from the south Sydney Rabbitohs number 10 is Fuifui Moimoi representing the smooth Eels and 11 would probably Have to go to Sam Thaiday from the Brisbane Broncos and 12 easily goes to another retired extraordinary player Sonny Bill Williams from the Canterbury Bulldogs and last but not least 13 Micheal luck from the NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS!!!!!!!

This year Pt England is learning about mighty mariners. My class, room 18 is learning about marine communication. I will be talking about marine communication.The army people have there own alphabet.They have there own alphabet because when they are communicating they could easily get confused for an example, if they say c,b,d,e or some other letters they would some how think its another letter.when they talk to each other through the walkeytalkey its hard for them to understand so they came up with an idea to make an alphabet so they could easily understand. They decided to say Alpha,Bravo,Charlie,Delta,Echo,Foxtrot and many more.

Jarryd Hayne

Jarryd Hayne is my favorite player in the NRL. He has a very good side that haven't been very good this year EELS. Last year the EELS made it to the grand final with the highly paid team the STORM. Sadly the EELS lost but, Jarryd Hayne was the player of the year.

He has very fancy boots which he wears, yellow Nike boots , they are very bright and a lot of people have them, in fact

I have some of my own. Jarryd Hayne plays in State of Origin for New South wales which have lost for 5 years and the victorious team Queensland which have embarrassed New South Wales for a long time.

Jarred Hayne has an enemy in STORM called Billy the kid Slater . They have had a fight and Billy Slater got lucky because he never got suspended and Jarred Hayne did.

Vodafone Warriors

Warriors are ranked 5!!! On the NRL(National Rugby League) ladder and they have a very strong defence line this year and that helps them to keep the other team from getting above their score.
The warriors have won against a very strong side and have earned their position. They even beat number2 on the NRL ladder, the mighty Panthers which in the start of the year massacred the Warriors in round 2,3, or round 4.
The Panthers have been really impressive this year, in fact they are very talented.

Warriors are my Number 1 team, plus the Titans.
When I grow up my goal is to get into NRL and be a very famous player. I have a club that I play for called Mt Wellington Warriors and we are also a very good team.

Queensland is my favourite state of origin team,state of origin is like rugby league but it is between two different Australian teams called Queensland and New South Wales.These two enemies are created by the NRL Australian squads, selected by the coach and manager!

I go for Queensland because they are the best team and have the best NRL players as well as New South Wales. They have one of My favourite people in NRL, Jared Hayne

On Wednesday the 27th 2010 they played head to head together and it was a good challenge but Queensland came out on top with a 28-24 score to queensland as Darius Boyed scored the first try well as and Sam Thaiday scored the last closing try.

I am going to explain what happens in an earthquake and how it is measured. When plates in the earth's crust grind against each other, often these plates fracture, or break. If this happens, an earthquake will most certainly occur. To help us measure the magnitude(size) of the quake, seismologists use the Richter Scale to give it a measurement between 3.5 and 8(check out the chart below). A 3.4 on the Richter Scale wouldn't be felt by most people, but an 8 would most definitely be felt! If you enjoyed hearing about the Richter Scale, you should check out the Mercalli Scale and investigate the difference.

This term we are currently learning about volcanos and the active earth. We are mainly learning about pressure right now. Without pressure, there would not be volcanos around and there wouldn't be many other things that we take for granted in life. Do you use things that are under pressure in your life?

The Titans are one of the teams I go for this year. For their first few games they have won most of them so that's a good start for them.

My favourite people in the team are Preston Campbell and Scott Prince.

The game I like the best that they've played is against is the Storm because they just won by a drop goal and it was an even score so then they got another penalty and got another kick at goal.

I hope they get a chance to win the NRL because that will be the first time.

In my holiday, I went to the Time Out Zone in the ten pin bowling centre at Mount Wellington. My mum won a lot of money in the little casino by the pool tables. We played a lot of games. My favourite game was the stacking game because, you can win some pretty cool prizes on it. It was cool and fun playing pool with my younger brother too. This was a very fun night with my family.

Goku is a man that has super powers and he is off a cartoon and it is cool. He is a sensible man that is trying to save the world from destruction. He can transform him self into a very powerful transformation called super saiyan. His hair changes colour and his clothes sometimes changes too. I think that's my favorite cartoon. His worst enemy would probably be Broly I'll have to say. Goku is the strongest I'll have to say.

Sonic he is a hedgehog of a game that I like. He is a blue hedgehog. There a games of him called Sonic unleashed,Sonic rider and much more that I don't know. I like it when Sonic gain his power and turns super and his colour blue turns yellow and he has a another transformation called super dark sonic. His colour is black and dark blue. Sonic has a brother called shadow he is more eviler and he made his team called team dark. Knuckles is Sonic friend and he is very strong. He has sharp things on his knuckles so that's why they called him knuckles. The dark side they always lose the fight because sonic or one of them save the day.

My friend Jeyan he is a good friend and his birthday is on the same day as my other friend Matthew.

He plays for the same team that I play for Mt Wellington warriors. his position is hooker and center. He is a good person to play with he is funny and he likes playing the game and playing rugby league. Jeyan is a sporty person

on so he likes to play games and doesn't like school work like me. the first time I met him when it was his first training but now he comes to the same school that I go to.

Roasted Marshmallow

Roasting marshmallow are very nice and also it is nice with a Milo. At my Nana's house sometimes when I sleep over for the night we have roasted marshmallows and it is delicious. When I am at pak,n save I sneak and grab marshmallow and put them in the trolley.When I go home I put the marshmallow by the heater and make it burnt.

Marshmallow roasted are my favourite.

Mt.Wellington Warriors Under10's

My Rugby League team is a very good and we have only lost one time against Richmond Rovers.We would have been undefeated but we missed our kicks because the ground was muddy.

The people in my team are called Sione, Steven, Stevie, Segah, Jonty, Mack,Macain,Erene, my brother Starford, Nathaniel, Isi, Vince, Bradly,Leo, Jeyan, Owen and my Coach Tony and manager Rie. I play fullback so I stay at the back and get the ball if they kick.

Rugby League is my favourite sport to play because my mum got me in to it and then then I started getting used to it.When I grow up I want to play for the Vodafone warriors because that's the only New Zealand Rugby League Team.

Michal Jackson was the king of pop and no one is going to replace him.My favourite song of his was thriller and that was a cool song. If only he didn't die he would be preforming in London but he didn't he past away only if he could preform in Auckland New Zealand.

He will always be remembered to me because he is the man.His moonwalk was cool it looked like he was doing it in the air he should of called it the airwalk.Some singers copyed him by his beat his moves and his STYLE.He use to be brown but then his skin turned white by cream or plastic surgery.

Billy Slater is my second favourite league star because he always gets run aways and gets good tries and sets up tries.When he gets the ball he mostly offloads.He is one of the fastest league players that ever played. His position is full back the same as mine. He is alright at tackling but when he gets the ball he runs fast as a cheetah and scores a try. He plays for the Melbourne Storms. The Melbourne Storms have won the telestra cup in 2007.

On may the 16th I had a party for my birthday but my birthday is on may 17th. I invited Jonty,Matthew,Shawn and Jeyan. For my party we went to Lazar strike and bowling but first we got my cake. I a chocolate fudge cake and we got the candles I got a one and an a zero because there was no ten. Then we went back home and just played at the park with Cruz.Then at night I was waiting and waiting.Then finally Matthew and Jonty came.Matthew got me a cool hat and a t-shirt and Jonty gave me ten dollars note.

We zoomed up the stairs like cheater dieing to get away from a T-Rex trying to eat it.When we went up stairs we played the game.We played Ghost Recon it was a shooting game.When my mum called us to go down stairs only me and Matthew went. When we went down she said "go over to Shawn's and pick him up from his house and take your brother with you " so we said "yep" and went with my baby brother.

Once we got there Shawn's mum answered the door and said"He is not there he is at his dads house I'll give you his number on a piece of paper'' and then we went back to my house.As soon as we got to my house we called Shawn's and his sister answered the phone gave the phone to Shawn then he gave it to his dad.Then Shawn dad said "yes he can".Then after a few minute Shawn came and we had a feed.we ate cookies drinks and cake and other food.when we had enough we went bowling.All of us got excited and sprinting inside.We all stay in a bunch so we don't get lost.My mum spent about forty something dollars.

The man at the counter said " you are in lane eight" so we went. The man at the counter put my name as cep because my mum did a c instead of an l.When we bowl i bowl first.Jonty kept on getting spares so he started winning.When my turn would finish i would play a game at the game zone and take for long. When we finished my sister won and Jonty came second. After bowling we all went to laser strike apart from my sister.We put our suit on and got started straight away.

We all got jumpy and ran every were around the area.I the middle of the game my brother made a lump on my head.He was running and i was running and then he ran in to me and hit my head.While the game was still on we were shooting like pro masters.I was very good and so was every body else.Some of us were getting angry but we still carried on.When it was over we went home and talked.

Hitting my head like a man going crazy .

Yelling louder than a king lion roaring its loudest .

Diving fast in the slide like the fastest racing car in the world.

Right down the slide like a cheetah running its fastest for food and water.

On the slide it was pitch black like the world had change to destruction and darkness.

Straight into the slide like I was going to be struck by lightning and dying to get away from it.

Lying down like I was struggling to go sleep and the stereo was on its loudest volume it could go.

It was freezing like I was in the the coldest country in the world.

Don't know how to slow down and don't know how to stop.

Ended with a splash in my face

Matthew's Birthday.

On January the 18 it was Matthew's birthday. Matthew's mum called and said "I will pick Lepa up at 11:45 to go bowling and we will go laser strike". Then my mum said "They will pick you up at 1:00." I Said "Ohhh".

After thirty minutes they arrived and picked me up and went straight to bowling, I thought we were going to his house first. Going straight to Bowling is better because you don't waste time. Once we got to bowling we got our bowling shoes on and Matthew bowled first. When I bowled I bowl with a size 8 ball and I get a strike. "Finally" we finished. I won because I got 112 points. Straight after that we went to laser strike it was dark and spooky and if you wear white you will glow like a light. Matthew had trouble putting the suit on so I had to help him. The targets were the back stomach and shoulders. As soon as we got in I started wheezing because we had to run around to much. I was glowing and roasting like a BBQ and sweating like a pig. While we were playing I kept shooting at them like a machine gun. When laser strike finished we got this paper that said who won and I was Mr.Trigger happy.

After that we went to the time out zone and we got 414 tickets. With the tickets we got a leather dog tag, a whoopee coshion and 2 rings. After we got our stuff we went to Matthew's house and played the game.
